Trenchless installations result in lower CO2 emissions
Since the mid-1990s, Hallingplast has been at the forefront of developing pipe products for trenchless installations. Compared to traditional installation with excavation and soil transport, trenchless installation offers significant benefits in the form of lower carbon dioxide emissions and reduced physical interference in the environment in question.
Hallingplast JAPI, a PE pipe with a high-strength PP jacket, is a pipe developed for trenchless installations and demanding environments. The jacket provides excellent protection against scratches, increasing the durability and service life of the media pipe.
On the market there are a lot of pipes with a thin protective layer, but we have chosen to primarily focus on a thicker and more robust jacket to create durable and hard-wearing pipe systems with a long service life. Hallingplast has options with a thinner jacket (Hallingplast JAPI light) for those who still want this.
100% renewable energy
We only use renewable energy in our production. In addition, we use waste heat from local waste incineration plants to heat buildings in the factory, which reduces the need for electricity. For process cooling, we use groundwater. Using a heat exchanger (200 kW) allows us to recover a lot of heat energy that heats the ventilation air in the factory, reducing electricity consumption. We have also installed a large solar cell plant at our factory that contributes to the production of renewable energy.
Minimal rejections
Hallingplast’s modern production facility uses the latest technology. In addition to pipes of the highest quality with minimal ovality, this means that we get fewer rejects at start-up. When the extrusion machines are started up, a certain amount of rejects always occur until the product has reached the desired shape and quality. Thanks to our advanced machinery, the proportion of rejects can be kept to a minimum. This also results in more efficient production and lower energy consumption.
Responsible logistics
We continuously strive to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by using a modern vehicle fleet and optimising utilisation of our capacity. We mainly use local operators with Euro 6 technology. This results in very low emissions to air in terms of NOx and particulate matter (PM).
Environmentally certified subcontractors
We only collaborate with suppliers that have an environmental management system according to ISO 14001 or other similar international standards.
